About the Role
We are looking for an Automation Specialist to develop and maintain Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) automations (playbooks, job templates, inventories), build reusable standards, create an automation catalog for first-line operations, and automate VM lifecycle and platform operations (VMware/Azure). The role includes event-driven automation (EDA), ITSM integrations, KPI measurement, and collaboration with observability teams for "detect→act" workflows.
Requirements
Main Responsibilities
Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) development/maintenance: idempotent playbooks, job templates, inventories, RBAC.
Build reusable/parameterized standards and automation catalog for 1st line/operations (prioritized use cases).
Automate VM lifecycle and platform operations (VMware/Azure) with guardrails and evidence.
Implement event-driven automation (EDA) and ITSM integrations when applicable.
Automate common platform tasks (service restarts, VM operations, basic remediation, provisioning).
Document automations: KB, runbooks, rollback, acceptance criteria.
Measure automation value: KPIs (adoption, success/rollback rate, time saved, MTTR impact).
Collaborate with Observability for controlled, traceable "detect→act" workflows.
Deliverables
Automation catalog in AAP with KB and ownership.
E2E workflows (provisioning, recurring operations, remediation).
Documented/auditable integrations.
Automation KPIs reporting and operational gains.
Requirements
Mandatory Professional Experience
5+ years in automation/DevOps/infrastructure automation.
2+ years hands-on with Ansible (ideally AAP) in production.
Experience integrating automation with platforms (VMware, Azure, AD, firewalls, Windows/Linux) and APIs.
Preferred Experience
EDA, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps pipelines for automation.
IaC (Terraform) and versioning/CI best practices.
Security in automation (secrets, approvals, audit trail).
Technical Skills
Ansible/AAP, scripting (PowerShell/Bash/Python), API integration, standards/reuse patterns.
Soft Skills
Pragmatism, ownership, rigor, focus on repeatability and quality.
Strong communication and knowledge transfer skills.
Language Requirements
Fluent Portuguese and English.
